Shearwater Cloud 4+

Love my Perdix AI, the app is just a bonus I guess. Transferring my dives couldn’t be simpler. Computer connects flawlessly every time and downloads the dives to my phone and/or laptop software.
With regard to UI, there is a simple option to alter feet/metres, temp and bar/PSI in settings but annoyingly, the dives are still listed with the date in the American format of month/day/year. Short of launching into a debate on who’s format is a logical way to write the date (answer: it’s the way 90% of the world does it 😃, kinda like the metric system, get on board folks!), I’d love for there to be a simple option to adjust the date format in the settings.
Other suggestion I’d love to see the dive profile graph go full screen if you tilt your phone into landscape mode.
You guys make perfect dive computers, keep up the good work with the app too 👌🏼

The update I just performed on 4 Sep 2023 now requires you to create a cloud account, and *will not open the rest of the app* if you decline to do that.

There was no warning given of this change.

My previous review:

I bought a new Shearwater Perdix 2 dive computer and downloaded v2.9.4 of this app. I’m surprised to see that only 2 reviews are still on file, and those are from 4 years ago! I’d also read some critical comments on the web about this app. None of this was encouraging, but here’s what I found.

It downloaded perfectly to, and runs fine on, my old iPhone 8 running ios12.
In my opinion the user interface is fine: intuitive, and mobile friendly.
It connected easily to the Perdix, downloaded the factory dive, and uploaded some custom splash screen text and an image - albeit all v.e.r.y s.l.o.w.l.y 🙂
Although the app has an option to create an account, it seems to work fine, so far, without having done that.
My only criticisms are as follows.

Some of the text and icons are quite small, with no option to make them bigger.
It wasn’t clear initially where the downloaded dive data is actually stored: on the phone? in a generic Shearwater account? in my Apple iCloud account? I now believe it’s on the phone, because the app displays the factory dive, even when the phone is put in Airplane mode, ie. cut-off from the Internet.

Good start. User experience is a little clunky and a couple of defects but all in all, a useful companion to my Shearwater.
