FIND YOUR FRIENDS ON THE MOUNTAIN
With live location on the recording screen, you can easily find each other! Location sharing is privacy-focused; you can always turn it on and off.

INTERACTIVE RESORT MAPS (Premium)

========================

Note: GPS is required, so Slopes will not work indoors. iPads and iPods will not be able to record with Slopes. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Other factors like temperature, battery health, and other apps running in the background will affect battery performance.

What’s New

Version 2024.5

- Added a battery safety net feature on Watch. If you hit 3% or less battery while recording Slopes will stop recording and try to send the data to your iPhone before your battery fully dies. If you start recording on Watch in low power mode (10% battery or less) Slopes will disable this safety net and trust you know what you're doing.
- When starting recording on your Watch via iPhone, Slopes will now warn you if your Watch battery is less than 50% and give you the option to start on your iPhone instead.
- Improved our "resort grouping", which helps us track resorts that are connected, to allow us to exclude certain resorts from the automatic renaming that came along with being in a group. Example: Alpine Meadows was being shown as "Palisades." Your recordings will retroactively fix themselves when you update.
- If your Watch or iPhone battery dies mid-recording, and you don't charge your device + re-launch Slopes until the next morning, you'll now have the option to recover + save the unfinished recording from the previous day.
- If your Watch battery dies and you start a new recording a few days later without recovering + saving that previous recording, when reaching out to customer support we can now grab those unfinished GPS logs from your Watch.
- Fixed the memories widget not updating after a trip is over.
- Fixed (hopefully, because TiMeZoNeS) upcoming trips sometimes showing as off by one day for the start or end.
- Fixed (hopefully, because TiMeZoNeS) the memories widget and logbook showing "0 days" for a trip.
- Fixed the order of trip destinations not following the set itinerary dates.
- Fixed runs and lifts not showing up on iPad when replaying on the timeline.

Constantly gets better

Tracked runs in Australia and Hakuba, Japan with Apple Watch 4 and iPhone 11 Pro. Both have plenty of power left even after tracking a day of runs.

Before you go to the snow you can set reminders to start the app when you arrive at specific resorts. Great when you get caught up in the excitement of finally getting back on to the snow again so you don’t forget.

Tracking seems to be quite accurate. Detects when you are on lifts, waiting and snowboarding/skiing.

Great to see the best runs of the day.

Keeps a logbook of all of your runs of the season.

Have imported GPX logs from Garmin Oregon of older trips. Required some editing within the app to determine what were runs and what were lifts in the track. Worked well.

I’m on to my second annual subscription.

The developer is constantly updating the app which is visible in the Version History. Other tracking apps seem to get mothballed by their developers.

App looks great on the iPad to nerd out on your runs later.

It’s no good if you can’t see it.

The tech seems fine and the data and statistics are what I would like to see BUT I can’t see it!

Slopes only works with iWatch and iWatch has to be worn against your skin. So to see your max speed at the bottom of a run, you have to pull your glove half off and slide your sleeve up to be able to see your data.

I’ve been wearing wrist mounted GPS since 2004 and they’ve all been worn on the outside of my jacket so I can see the data at a glance and without freezing my fingers off.

The only way this system will ever be any good will be if you can hear the data since you can’t see it. An ever increasing number of people have Bluetooth speakers in their helmets so the system could be programmed to say ‘30’ when you got to 30 kmh and then ‘40’ and so on. Or maybe you could set the system to announce your speed every 20 seconds. Then when it senses you stopped at the bottom, it could announce Max Speed, Average Speed and Distance travelled or whatever other stats you set it to say.

Anyway, right now, it’s close to useless if I can’t see the data without having to wrestle with my clothing in the lift line.

Best Ski Tracking App!

I’ve used this app for several season and tracked my runs in Canada, US and Japan. Read all of the resort data perfectly. Seamlessly transfers data to Strava. I use an iPhone 13 Pro and an Apple Watch 5 currently but previously used an iPone 11 pro and never had a battery drain issue.

Improvements also seem to be pretty consistent, each season there’s a suite of new features.

The only draw back is the price. It’s an expensive app. Would be nice to get it a bit cheaper and with Family Sharing so my wife and kids could also use it.
