Play Snake like it is 1997. This is a remake of the original Snake, complete with dot-matrix display and monotone sounds. Rewind time and get a dosis of nostalgia that is as addictive (and frustrating) as the original. Play Snake '97 and be prepared to lose some productive hours. Snake '97 features: - old school controls - dot-matrix display - original monotone sounds (bleep bleep) - 9 original and 3 extra difficulty levels - Snake 1 and classic Snake 2 - 7 classic game modes (5110, 3210, 8210, 8850 and 3310, 3410, 7110 with Snake 2) - bonus creatures (Snake 2) - go through the walls! (Snake 2) - 5 original and 2 extra labyrinths (Snake 2) - a high score that cannot be reset (just like the original) The story behind this game is that my smartphone got damaged, requiring me to revert back to an old phone. Suddenly I knew the smartphone was missing something and the idea for a accurate Snake remake was born. Snake '97 is an homage to the classic mobile phone game programmed in 1997. Ah, the old classic, perfectly retrofitted for new technology. So many good memories! Thanks dsd!I used to love this game on my old Nokia 3110 (my very first mobile phone) when I was in high-school back in 2005, 😄 and now 12 years later, I've been reunited with both my old phone (thanks to the image, screen, and sound effects) and an old favourite game.(*sniff*) It's like seeing an old dear friend again after losing contact for so long...IT WORKS PERFECTLY on my new-tech iPad Air! Thankyouthankyouthankyou THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

I was extremely excited to find this app and am so pleased at how accurate it is, it takes me straight back to having my first phone. People are saying it's harder to use than the original but hang in there. I believe it just takes a bit longer to get used to touching a screen and not the original buttons! Thank you so much for making this app, definitely the best remake of a 90s game I've seen on the App Store 😄🐍❤️

Best game on the App Store by far, no ads just lots of fun to be had, brings me back to my teenage years playing snake on my Nokia phone, you can customise what phone you want to use which is fantastic as my hands are small and the default phone is too big for my fingers but the smaller phone styles are perfect for me, great you compete with other people for rank, game deserves to be 5 stars, well done devs 10/10

I love the game haven’t stopped playing since I downloaded it, at first I struggled to get the hang of what number to press go up down or side ways but once I figured it out it took off like a rocket, I would recommend an updated version with buttons that go up or down and side to side instead of the numbers.

Various bug fixes, faster loading, fewer ads, various optimisations for new high resolution displays, better support for iPad's new windowing system.
