SpeakLine lets your Mac talk to you!
Type some text, select a voice, and your Mac reads it out loud.
Enjoy your words with funny voices or read texts in native languages.

Version 5.2.1
This update brings official support for macOS 15 Sequoia. The biggest new feature is support for the SSML markup. Optionally enabled, the SSML markup allows you to add pauses or control speech properties inline.
• Support for SSML markup to control reading attributes. Enable it in the preferences to get started.
• Optional word counter. Enable it in the preferences.
• Filtering the voice list by language also works on macOS.
• New macOS icon better matches its iOS counterpart.
• Minor design tweaks and other improvements.
New in 5.2.1:
• Voice speed and pitch sliders are now disabled when SSML mode is enabled, as SSML overrides these settings.
• Fixed incorrect SSML tag example for voice volume.

Worth it
I like that it has spelling check and keep the previous text in the window even when you close it.
Only suggestions is ofcourse more realistic sounding human voices.

I always seem to think a lot when I am writing. With this tool I am doing a lot more listening and have a lot more attention on what I am doing and producing.

As a writer I need to know what things sound like so this is very handy. I input the text and it reads it back to me so I can edit it until it sounds perfect
