Spoonful: Food Scanner 4+

If you’re starting a new diet and are finding it overwhelming, THIS IS THE APP FOR YOU!
I recently had to do the FODMAP diet for my health, and I found this app more useful than the official one! The small subscription cost is insignificant compared to the ridiculous amount of time and effort saved in food prep/shopping while attempting to get my head around this stupid diet.
The interface is super easy to use, and any items that aren’t in the app always get sent back to you within 48 hours, although it was usually less than 24 hours for me (and the simple fact that it has Australian grocery items immediately makes it more useful than other apps on the App Store). Plus, with all the other available diets/allergen settings, this app will do wonders to protect your sanity while trying to live a normal life with an inconvenient diet.
Can’t recommend Spoonfuls enough!

This app has been a literal lifesaver! If you have allergies this could save your life. I’ve been anaphylactic to certain foods for many years. But mistakes still happen. A friend recommended spoonful and it’s so easy to use, I just scan every barcode now. Great when shopping. And a couple times it picked up on allergens that I didn’t. I also love that if a product is not yet available you can submit it. Have done it a couple times now and they are super quick at getting it added to the database. The only thing I wish there was more of is info on alcohols. I tend to find the majority aren’t yet logged. 10/10 recommend.

This is so good! In finally discovering that I don’t do well with FODMAPS, i picked this up and went through my pantry scanning and biffing all the foods that had been slowly murdering my gut.

Also got to use this at the supermarket and was surprised to find that some different varieties of similar products are safe! Foods i would have blanket avoided!

Its helping me to maintain good happy GI without as much compromise as before.

Also managed to get my vitamin gummies added to the app within a day which is insanely fast! Thank you! Im horribly dyslexic and have great difficulty reading ingredient lists so its really wonderful to have this.

Five stars! I would love to see you guys go into partnership with the big supermarkets so that these features and filters can be overlayed with the coles/woolies app so that theres less switching between. Same with the monash app which I’ve also been using to suss out the non-packaged foods.
