Description

"""‘Stand Tall’ is a new app designed to dodge those tricky money situations – like getting to the end of the week and finding there’s no cash left for dinner.
The game has been developed by IHC in New Zealand, and organisation who will advocate for the rights, inclusion and welfare of all people with intellectual disabilities and support them to live satisfying lives in the community.
Stand Tall is being developed to make handling money easier for young people with disabilities who want to be independent. The game simulates daily live living in a flat with 4 flatmates. The player has to manoeuvre real-world scenarios which may affect their budget, but could also affect their well-being. For instance living on junk food will eventually affect the players health.
Each game level introduces new financial concepts as well as challenges typical for living in a flat. Games are a safe way of learning and any mistakes only have consequences in the game and of course not in real life. The scenarios provide a good snapshot of what the player may still need to learn or where the player is confident.
The game is supported by voice over and is rolled out as an ongoing story where the player always has 3 options to choose from. Each level has quests, which includes finding a job, learning to drive a car, finding new flatmates, etc.
Stand Tall has been developed with user and the community participating in workshops to ensure users will get maximum benefit from playing the game.
This game has
• NO in-game monetisation
• NO in-app advertising
• NO 3rd party data mining

Stand Tall was developed to benefit anyone who struggles to live independently and has provided great learning results for young people with Down Syndrome, Autism, Aspergers and will the team believes any young person will benefit from playing the game if they are planning to move out soon.
