VicRoads and School Drug Education and Road Aware have partnered to produce a high quality children’s book for children aged four to eight years titled That’s the Sound the Street Makes.
Written by renowned Australian author Danny Katz and illustrated by Mitch Vane That’s the Sound the Street Makes follows the story of Ella on her journey to school with her sniffling Dad as she reminds him how to be a responsible and safe pedestrian.
Now you can bring the story to life with the interactive app for iPhone. That’s the Sound the Street Makes is beautifully painted with watercolours and is filled with sounds, and narration to help young readers follow along.
Read along with the narration and watch each page come to life with interactive scenes and characters.
Look at the iPad version for an even deeper interactive experience with games and animations.

Ratings and Reviews
I just wanted the sounds to play as we read the book, but the UI is rubbish. It plays a random mix of sounds and someone saying the sound, and while it has hidden touch areas on the page you need to find just to get a sound to play, it usually doesn't play the relevant sound for what you are touching.
I really enjoyed this. I might have liked it even more than the kids but they liked it too
