Sweepy: Home Cleaning Schedule 4+

I’m so glad I found this app! I’ve been struggling for years with feelings of overwhelm, particularly around house chores. I work fulltime and have 3 kids and it just feels unmanageable. I’ve tried different to-do apps and putting in chores on a regular repeating schedule, but they just pile up & stress me out so I don’t know where to begin (they also bury the things that actually HAVE to be done on a particular day). Enter Sweepy. I put in all the tasks I want to do at home - not just cleaning, but garden chores & even some admin. I made the ‘effort stars’ approximately equal time required (1 star = 15 min). I allocated effort stars to each day of the week based on how much time I’ll have, and then I let Sweepy tell me what to do! I had to tweak my jobs list because at first it said I couldn’t get everything done with the available effort (no surprise there). Now I can relax knowing that I only need to worry about what Sweepy puts in front of me today - the rest will be dealt with later. Absolutely worth the subscription for this peace of mind.

I have always struggled so much with keeping up with cleaning schedules. Sweepy has been amazing for breaking things into smaller tasks and my house has never looked better. Initial set up was pretty easy with the suggested tasked for each room, but I did find myself tweaking things to suit my needs. Breaking dishes up into categories like cutlery, plates, bowls, pans etc. as I do not have a dishwasher and hand washing is my biggest ADHD hurdle. But also removing some of the more “aspirational” tasks, like cleaning the baseboards of every room. Just not feasible for my lifestyle as it is now. I have had this app since around April or May of 2023 and I am now at a point with it where it feels like a good balance for my own abilities and the needs of my household. Absolute 10 out of 10 app.

I recently upgraded to the premium version after using the free version for 2 years now. Being able to have your tasks automate for the week is really beneficial, as opposed to just having an entire list. If you don’t really need this feature, you’ll find that the free version works just as well with what you need.

I read a review mentioning to just save your money and use the likes of Google Cal to set your tasks. As someone who utilises Google Cal on a daily basis, Sweepy just offers a layout and structure that is appealing and ideal as a household cleaning app!

Sweepy offers that visual indication of how dirty/clean the tasks you set are, an organised structure based on your rooms, decluttering challenges, automated scheduling, streak tracking and points collecting. I wanted to be able to just use something that offers everything I needed instead of going between different apps.

I found this very useful to break through those barriers of which make even the mundane tasks so overwhelming. Highly recommend!
