The live chat function whilst useful easily disconnects and you lose the ability to go back to conversation. Three times now it has dropped out (eg I fumbled and accidentally swiped across the screen and it returned to app home page) and I’m expected to go back in and start a whole new conversation with someone else, repeating the exact same information which is very frustrating particularly when the first time I had someone really helpful who was nearing solving the issue, and when I went back in was told they couldn’t help (at a much earlier point in the conversation) and to go to a store.

Apart from broad agreement about performance and reliability issues, Telstra have recently taken a backwards step on information transparency.
Many years ago I had a complaint upheld which led to the expiry time/date on for prepaid accounts being displayed with the time of expiry, rather than just the date. There was ambiguity over the expiry date in that it was unclear whether expiry was at the beginning or end of the given day. Telstra claimed it was the beginning of the day and so people were routinely losing their carried over financial and data balance. I complained that this was not a reasonable interpretation and had my account credited the lost amounts - along with a change to the app which displayed the actual rollover time.
Recently however, this appears to have been reversed and the date alone is being displayed. I suspect it’s simply a coding oversight, but the cynic in me says it’s more likely a deliberate attempt to claw back some revenue from those who don’t notice or can’t be bothered challenging.
Telstra, you did a good thing by admitting an oversight and correcting it. Please don’t take a backwards step on a rare act of integrity which managed to restore some of my faith in corporate integrity.

Some time ago, in response to the very problem you describe, we changed the expiry time to midnight AEST on the date shown in the various places our customers can check their credit. So if you recharge on the day displayed, your credits etc. will be carried over. This app is so glitchy!! I can’t even be specific about what the problems are because they happen so frequently! If I want to download a bill, it will say: ‘the PDF is unavailable at the moment’, if I go to pay the bill, the screen hangs on the payment page, if I want to check my data usage, it will say: ‘that information isn’t available at the moment’. I have deleted and re-downloaded the app multiple times, I try reloading it before I go to use it but nothing seems to fix the issues. They are not connection issues, they happen whether I’m on 4G or WiFi..... judging by the other reviews on here I’m not the only one to have these issues and they’ve been going on for ever! How hard is it to fix this app?
