The Telstra Air® App enables you to access Australia’s largest Wi-Fi Network at over 1 million hotspots across Australia and over 19 million Fon hotspots overseas. You can take part if you have an eligible Telstra personal mobile or Telstra home broadband service and compatible gateway.

With the Telstra Air® App you can connect to our hotspots when you’re out and about. The app will automatically connect you to the Telstra Air Network® when you’re within range.


iCloud Keychain is a service provided by Apple which allows you to store usernames and passwords, making it easier for you to log in without having to re-enter your username and password when using your Apple devices. Cannot login, so no idea about other stuff!

So at the initial login prompt I put in my Telstra credentials and get a response informing that something went wrong with the app (no further debug info possible). I then deliberately tried with an incorrect password (just in case that had been the issue) - however the response came through that the password (the deliberately wrong one) was incorrect - so this tells me your authentication system works, however there are issues with the application flow trying to pass intents to move between pages. Not usually a hard thing to fix (depending on your architecture) but something that is extremely core to the ability to use an app!

I just got off the phone from the help desk who told me that new users to Telstra Air have not been able to register/login for the last 2 weeks. The technical engineers are working on it and the help desk people have been told to just tell customers to keep trying to log in until maybe it works. I find this completely ridiculous that a company the size of Telstra would:

1. Have a service out of action for 2 weeks;
2. Not communicate this outage on their Telstra Air captive portal or in their App; and
3. Tell their help desk people that the appropriate customer response is ‘just keep trying to login until it works someday’!!

I am a retired IT professional who cannot understand this level of incompetence and unprofessionalism in any organisation let alone one the size of Telstra.

I am leaving for 3 months in Europe shortly and wanted to use the Fon network...I hope you fix this issue soon AND COMMUNICATE THAT IT IS FIXED to all of your frustrated CUSTOMERS.

TelstraAir Access Points on map don’t work

There is a certain expectation. I’m sitting in front of a Payphone with the TelstraAir logo but it doesn’t even show up as a WiFi point. I go to the next Access Point on the Map still doesn’t show up as an Access Point. Very disappointed. I go to the local shopping centre and I can connect to Telstra Air Access Point not on App map. Connect for maybe 20minutes very lame speed and lots of dropping off the network probably due to so many ppl trying to connect. Can’t even update my phone iOS over the wifi 400Mb rubbish service.
