Version 1.4
We've given the app a major upgrade, improving its speed, functionality and reliability, as well as increasing the amount of content available. New features include:
- Enhanced Today's Paper - More easily read and navigate the digital replica of our newspaper
- Extra content - We've added even more topics to the new Browse page
- Faster loading - Articles appear on your screen even more quickly
- Improved functionality - It's now easier to move around the app and find content that interests you quickly and intuitively.
- Comments - You can now read other user's views, and leave your thoughts on articles in the app.
- Better search - Find the articles you are looking for within the app more easily.
Ratings and Reviews
Examiner catalogue
The Examiner takes too long to read digitally due to it becoming more of a Harvey Norman catalogue. Flicking quickly through the catalogue to get to the bulk of the news is awful!
Perhaps it would be best to put it at the back or before the sport.
If I wan’t to find something in the catalogue, I’ll know where to find it!
So frustrating that the app often says it failed to connect to the server
In the months before the app upgrade I was seriously considering not renewing my digital subscription due to the frequency of the app failing to load the daily paper, particularly when there were many pages. It usually stopped downloading or failed to connect to the server by the time it got to the Public Announcements or Sports sections. Although there has been some improvement since the latest version of the app, today the paper will not “connect to server” past Page 4 and I am definitely not getting my money’s worth with this digital sub! I have tried at different times of the day with no luck. I have full bars of wifi so the issue is not with my inner city residence. Please get this sorted!!!

This paper has a good range of local, national and some international news. The articles are of a high quality. Keep it local!
