Can searching and reading editorials be made easier?

Hi,

I don't need to comment on the world class journalism or the excellent general layout of the app but can searching for and reading editorial articles be made easier in the app? The best solution would be to tag editorial articles in the opinion section. However, I don't mind searching for it using the editorial keyword in the search box, but if the results could at least be sorted based on the most recent articles first, that'll make the experience even better.

Thanks and keep up the great work!

Love the NYT but not this App

I’ve been a subscriber for a couple of years now, and although I love the NYT, this app just isn’t up to scratch. This is surprising, considering how good the actual journalism is and that it’s probably the most well renowned newspaper in the world.. I really wish it was easier to navigate between articles, and not have to press the ‘<‘ button about 15 times every time I want to get back to the Home Page. I also think it should be easier to search by subtopic, and just generally look through the different sections. It almost seems like it’s a square space version of an app… with really basic navigation capabilities. I’m from Australia, so I’ve never actually read a hard copy paper from them, but I’m assuming there are regular sections/ features… it makes sense to me to have those headers laid out very clearly for people to navigate to. You should be able to search for key terms, major features, journalists and news topics. There should be a “front page” button on the page so you can go back to the home page after reading a piece. Also.. why are there two share buttons at the bottom right.. one looks like a present and the other a regular share icon. I feel like someone just threw this app together and haven’t bothered to improve it, it’s a shame because it doesn’t meet the standard of the paper.

Latest update not user friendly

I’ve been using the NYT app for more six years. Great investigative, well researched journalism presented in a format that’s easy to review. However, a recent update shifted the back icon to the bottom of the screen. All other apps position tgis function at the top of the screen so you intuitively look to the top of the screen once you’ve read an article only to discover there’s no back button. The new location at the bottom of the screen also requires awkward and frustrating hand contortions to reach it each time you want to return to the home screen. The result is the I surf less than I use to and more recently I’ve found myself abandoning the app quicker than normal if I’m in a browsing mood as other news apps are easier use. Please put the back button back where it belongs.
