Ratings and Reviews
A 1980 Classic that is still competitive with all those great post-2000 games
I played the board game Titan soon after release in 1980 and it was clearly one of the best games ever, as a 2 player game. To accelerate the play we eventually used 2 dice instead of 1, choosing the better number for each stack - worked brilliantly! Obviously can’t do that with computer version, but since it moves 3x faster anyway, there is no need. I am tired of inferior computer implementations of board games, but was very surprised at how well this one runs (on a 2019 iPad) - it really is top notch.
I’ve read complaints about inferior AI, but I find it plays quite well, especially compared with many others such as Twilight Struggle, which AI is hopeless at present. Also complaints about altered rules, but they are quite minor, and don’t affect the game much at all.
In my reasonably limited experience, I think this is the best board game adaption that I have come across, pretty close to perfect. And one of my top 10 board games too!
Classics Avalon Titan
Just brilliant, all it needs is battle tester to replay those what if tactical battles.
The only rule it does not implement of the original Titan is the 3 way stack split. ... next version maybe ?
Love the game
Love the game but it always seems as if your dice are super good or super bad?
