TomTom MyDrive 4+

Not a bad app on its own but falls down

I actually don’t mind the app to plan routes on my phone and that all seems to work well. The problem I have is sending it to my GPS. The GPS receives the file then undoes all my hard work by rerouting it according to the parameters on the device. If I wanted that to happen I’d just type in the destination on the GPS and be done with it. I can’t see any way to send my elaborate route to my GPS and not have it completely change it. Surely this would be a simple software fix to at least have the GPS ask before it ‘fixes’ all my work.

I love this app great for professional Drivers

This app and Go620 was a life saver when I first started as a bus driver it help me learn over 170 bus Routes by programming and saving them onto a memory card and in the my drive app then sending them to the go620 device, this is almost impossible in the device it self as you have to make it go down pacific roads. But there’s a couple of things I can recommend, the biggest problem and this one fix would make the app 1000 times better, when you select your in a bus allow us to drive in bus lanes and turn right at “no right turn signs bus excepted” as we are allowed to do this would help saving entire routes instead of making multiple routes. Secondly it also took you crazy ways when you told it to back over itself for example if I put a marker on the left side of the street and when around the block and ended up on the same street but heading in the other direction it put took me down nearly every side street. I loved the fact every bus stop was saved in your data base But this is a little useless other than a starting point or finish point as your only aloud to use 20 markers and some of my routes have over 50 bus stops I do understand I’m trying to make it do something it probably wasn’t designed to do. Thank you for making such a helpful app the last comments are really small things that would improve the app to get a 5 star rating

Needs map and contrasting street colour flexibility

Hi guys,

I have the GO 620 also and the map colours and contrasting streets cannot be modified there either.

It’s actually worse on the GO 620 stand alone device. Map colour contrast definitely needs to be deeper between terrain and streets on that.

The MyDrive iOS interface app for the GO 620 is pretty good map contrast wise.
Mainly the GO620 device itself that needs the additional colour contrast options

You need at least 5 choices on various map colour and street contrasting colour combinations not just the icon and button colours.

Lift the customer/user experience to a higher level and think about improving the end user perceived satisfaction on product.

Come on guys.
Add the extra user flexibility, at least with a few deeper and higher contrast between street and terrain on the maps on your branded stand alone devices.

Overall, pretty happy with the stand alone device and the MyDrive and Go apps EXCEPT for the mapping colour contrast options on the GO620. Which is the only reason for having the MyDrive app in the first place.
