Nice and simple
I like the clean layout for the on-screen display. Overall it's a nice, simple video player.
Wih my laptop trackpad, I use 2-finger-swipe up/down for volume control, 2-finger-swipe left/right for fast forward/backward. These gestures work okay but they are not as smooth as VLC in my experience. Personally I still prefer Total Video because it is clean and simple and has all the features i need.
Startup - misses first second of audio playback
Overall, this isn’t a bad app. Has played anything I’ve thrown at it so far. My only real gripe however is that if you double click an audio file, by the time the app launches and audio starts playing, it has lost the first second or so of audio - i.e. you don’t hear the start of the audio from the very beginning. If you could fix it so that it doesn’t start playback until the app has launched and can initiate audio that would be good.
Plays everything
VLC alternative, heavily based on VLC, even in some sub menus referring to VLC. Less options, less complicated
