Good app to block spammers

I have the free version of the app and I think it is good. I would opt for the premium version if the cost was half what it is now. I have given the 4 starting mainly because of the ads that pop up everytime I want to manually update the list. It is annoying and I have to attempt the update several times before it actually updates. I don’t remember a single on of the ads so I don’t see the point of shoving this down the throat of free users. Find another way to generate revenue!

Dodgy method of subscription

I hate these apps these days, they ask you for your details and make you fill out a bunch of questions takes about 10-15 or so min of your time and then at the end they tell you you will have to pay/subscribe to use the app. Why don’t they tell you that beforehand? Because they’re afraid you won’t purchase. And you feel more invested and worked up after they’ve dragged you thru a bunch of questions.
Oh and don’t try tell us because you offer a 3 day or 1 week free trial that you are giving us the option to purchase because we all know in order to get that free trial we have to enter our bank details and you are just capitalising/banking on the fact that we have busy lives and will forget that we’ve subscribed to your app and we end up paying for it and it’s difficult to get a refund.
I don’t subscribe/purchase whenever I experience this because it’s a dodgy way for an app or anyone to do business.
Just tell the App Store or yourselves to give us the price situation before hand, at the beginning or before opening the app, from the very start. Or how about give an actual free trial of the app where we don’t have to give our bank details?
Afraid you won’t make as many sales?… well I’d rather do business with upfront ethics than dodgy trickery

It definitely increases spam calls

It definitely increases spam calls. I preface that I rarely call people and I rarely have people call me. When I say it is rare for me to get phone calls I mean it. I am lucky to have 1 phone call a month at times from ANYONE. Since installing this I have had multiple calls a day. Today I have had 3 in the space of 3 hours, Friday I had 2 calls. My phone hasn’t received calls this frequently in many years (and for a reason). The app might be helpful for screening calls but it also gives people access to your number. I can’t justify having the app after receiving so many calls in such a short time period. It is too coincidental. Even the response from the developer saying “it is a common misconception” - no. I rarely receive calls because I rarely give out my phone number. Receiving phone calls is rare for me. But since installing Truecaller I have received many calls all which are scams. The response from the developer feels like they didn’t even read my review properly and are gaslighting my review.

Please note that, spam lists in Truecaller are limited only to detect the Top spammers therefore numbers with lower spam score will not be flashed on the screen like on Android due to limitations on Apple’s platform.
