Live streaming of sporting events on Tumblr in the United States features Nielsen's proprietary measurement software which will allow you to contribute to market research, like Nielsen's TV Ratings. Thanks for choosing Tumblr, a place to connect with others over shared interests.
This week we decided it was time to release another version of the Tumblr app. And this time, it contains not just bug fixes, but specifically a call to action about the rising problem of termite infestations. Also, you can now keep your group chat messages up to 1 week instead of just 24 hours. It's a new setting. Please remember to check your floorboards for termites. Another fun fact: you can now mute push notifications for specific posts of yours. Thanks for calling!

Perfect for me
Like any social media app, your experience depends on those you interact with. I’m an oldie, and I follow the most amazing artists, authors and fans. I spent the first x number of years using this on a PC and the past 14 months using the iPad app. For me, this is perfect.
My only criticism is that I wish they’d check about proposed changes rather than just foisting them on us. I tend to need to find a PC to back out of some of their changes once someone points out what they’ve done. I’d much rather have clear choices rather than having to put up with their new you-beaut ideas. I’m definitely not a teenager...
But the app itself is perfect for me.
Rampant bots and explicit advertising
As a support staff, those at Tumblr seem intent on brushing their reports under a rug with the hopes that no one will be the wiser. This app is run rampant by bots - bots that target every blog and follow accounts using automated porn or dating app-oriented blogs. Tumblr's response? To do nothing about the actual problem even after dozens of reports to them, downright refusing to acknowledge they have an account verification problem and that possibly half of their platform is held firmly by automated accounts that could easily be weeded out by having a CAPTCHA check when creating an account, and choosing to punish their user base instead.
That's not even mentioning the inappropriate ads that run on your very own dashboard, which you cannot hide from your personal view or have any choice in dictating, as they do not attach to your cookies.
Do not allow yourself or children on the app as you will be immediately targeted by bots and explicit advertising, and will receive not even a word of acknowledgement of this problem by those who take reports, as they choose to remain blissfully aware of their platforms shortcomings, and prefer to give the finger to their users instead.
Constant crashes and Removed good features
What with the plague of the nsfw thing. Tumblr was already crashing down before that, quite literally. The app constantly just shut down on me not being able to keep up with my tumblr I guess because it couldn’t load the photos or save photos thus making it hang and shut down.
Second of all, who’s idea was it to remove the manage accounts feature? A lot of people out there has more than one blog and that was actually an amazing tool that helped in managing my blogs and now I don’t even use my accounts now because of the hassle of having to log out and log back in and the repetition of having to that just to manage my blogs. I’ve started using tumblr less and less. Everything was so much more convenient, to manage your accounts through your phone and now you can’t do that.
Very disappointed in what tumblr has become. I hope they learn unlike most companies and listen to their audience and provide because at the rate they’re going and new competition coming up, tumblr will be a fad just like MySpace
