Description

Typing without limits on iPad and iPhone. When it comes to on-screen keyboards, bigger IS different, and Typefinity is built to take advantage of the larger screen size on tablets and modern phones. Stay in the flow when it's time to type a number or symbol or you need to move around, because the needed keys are right there in the main layout. And we use the full width, not just the middle, to display word suggestions.

Ergonomics aren't sacrificed either. The main keys are big enough to type fast, and autocorrect is fine-tuned for catching common finger misses. You'll find using Typefinity is almost like having a full bluetooth keyboard -- without the weight and bulk!

• Numbers and punctuation in one layout, where your fingers remember.
• Cursor keys for easy, precise movement by letter or word.
• Dedicated keys for accented characters in your language.
• Option switch for typing other symbols and accented characters.
• Full autocorrect in all supported languages, showing more than three words.
• “Short” layout option for more screen visibility in landscape orientation.
• Swipe input (trace words with your finger), and flick up on number and punctuation keys for shifted versions.
• Numeric and calculator modes.
• Privacy friendly (“full access” is NOT required for most functionality, including autocorrect).

Languages / layouts supported: English (US and British / UK / Aus, Dvorak), Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French (France and Canada), German, Italian, Norwegian (Bokmål), Polish, Portuguese (Portugal and Brazil), Romanian, Spanish, and Swedish.

What’s New

Version 2.2

• iOS 13 is the new minimum version.
• Add haptic keyclicks options on phone.
• Fix bug with nonstandard keyclick sounds.
• New Opt layout fine-tuned and now brought to Italian and Portuguese.
• iPhone: shading of keys where Opt- provides common pronunciation can now be enabled under advanced settings. (Previously it was on by default.)

Papillon0002 ,

I use this as my only Latin-character keyboard

I've been using Typefinity and its predecessor, Padkeys, for several years. It's great having the number key row right there above the letters. So you don't have to keep swapping between alphabetic and numeric keyboards (although a telephone-style large numeric keypad and a calculator are available by swiping the number row).

I have removed the standard iOS keyboard in my preferences, so I now use Typefinity exclusively when typing in English.

It now types superscript and subscript characters, so you can type all your favourites, such as CO₂, ax² + bx + c, H₂SO₄, E=mc² etc!

I love the cursor arrows and the Undo button, as well as access to more symbols than the standard iOS keyboard. It has a swipe-to-type feature, which I don't use myself.
Dragging downward from the spacebar wil scroll downwards through your text, which doesn't currently happen with the standard iOS keyboard.

Over the years the developers have been ironing out the bugs, and the support section of their website allows users to suggest and vote on feature requests.
They have been very willing to improve their product based on user suggestions, and it's been a great experience to be part pf the community working to improve the keyboard!

Don't expect a keyboard full of emojis and gimmicky pictograms, icons and wingdings, although you can of course swap to the iOS keyboard or an installed emoji keyboard by tapping the globe key. This is a keyboard that gets the job done. Emoijis are available via the search/prediction bar.

While it takes a small amount of getting used to (the delete key is in the top corner, like a computer keyboard), it is now an excellent product.

I definitely think it's worth the cost for the number keys and arrow keys alone.

emojis user ,

Emojis

There needs to be an easier way to acres emo is.

Way to hard art the moment.

I hope there's an update very soon

Then app would be 5 star

Developer Response ,

Hi, glad you like the keyboard aside from the emoji feature. Typefinity chose to implement emoji via search, which in fact iOS 14 will also add to the standard keyboard. As we recommend on our support site, if you prefer a hunt-and-pick UI, just add a separate emoji keyboard to your list in Settings | General | Keyboards, then access with one tap on the globe. (This is similar to the way the system works without any third-party keyboards – the emoji keyboard is separate from the main one.)
