The app will instantly show the current UV Index (UVI) at your location in an intuitive way. Tap and hold to see the peak UV Index for today. You can also see when the Sun rises and sets, and at what time the UV Index is at its highest level.

UV Wise

Am very appreciative of this app - great that it reflects your location and there is an ability to notify if UV level reaches relevant rating - helps me manage time in the sun and even where the sun is not obvious but the UV levels are 3+ the app alerts to this

Difficult to predict based on their wheel

I downloaded 5 similar apps to test them all out, and I gravitated towards this one first because of the nice graphic. However, the rotating wheel, rotates in the wrong direction, and instead of showing you how the UV index increases throughout the day and decreases towards the evening, it is more binary, and will only show you first thing in the morning, midday, and late in the evening. That’s no good for me. I need to know during the daytime when it’s okay for me to be outside, but this app can’t tell you. Instead of going from green to Orange to read to purple, it can only go from yellow to purple and nowhere in between on those days when it is extreme. And in Sydney during the summer every day is extreme. It would’ve been nice if they allowed feedback from within the app, but obviously they are not interested, so I am better off forgetting this and moving onto the next app.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for the feedback! I’m actually working on an update these days that will allow you to drag the sun left and right on the top graph, that way you can check the UVIndex any time during the day :) And also a direct feedback button is coming :) Hope to see you keep using my app!

Basic function good

I could really use a display of what time of in the afternoon to expect that the uv index will descend from high to moderate level. It's about the only feature I would be happy to pay extra for.
________
This was my review a year ago. The app hasn't changed. I regularly swim in an open air pool and I have a very sensitive skin. I need to know in advance what time in the afternoon the UV level drops to low. Annual statistics for the current date would suffice.

Developer Response ,

Hi! This functionality was added in the 5.0 update. Press the "Forecast" tab. It will show you the hour-by-hour forecast for today, and the next 6 days (with the pro version). Look for green bars if you want to know when the UVI is Low :)
