Good features, could improve UI
I’m a happy user of this app and am compressing a few videos per day in this online teaching environment (COVID-19).
One improvement I’d like to see is the ability to crop, trim, merge and compress all in one go. That would save time. Apologies if this is possible and I’m misrepresenting the app.
Nice and simple
Once you get the hang of it, this is an essential tool to prevent iCloud storage blowout. You also need it if you are having trouble uploading video clips due to internet speed or data limitations. I usually downsize the video to 720p as well as compress it. That’s all you really need for mobile playback. And then I enable the delete option to remove the bloated original.
For iPhone 6S and above, it re-encodes the file into h.265 (HEVC) which is like a decade newer than h.264 which is often what the video is encoded as to begin with. The old codec uses double the space to store the same level of quality.
This app provides an essential function in a convenient and no-nonsense way.
Handy and efficient compression
I use this mostly for compressing videos for imsg that are too large and I avoid uploading via iCloud which takes longer than using this app does to compress. Super easy to use, many options, fast compression and great results. And it’s free. Highly recommended!!! Thanks devs!
