Historically great, latest update no good
I’ve been using the app for years and I have loved it. The latest update took away the features that, in my opinion, make it so useful. The automatic grouping of content is clunky, yet there’s no way to turn the feature off. The use of small thumbnails now is also no good; you can barely make out any detail. I’m sure all this will be addressed as this app has been a mainstay for so long.
Can’t complain it’s free
I don’t know why people are whining & giving low ratings to an app that is free. The developers are putting in their time & efforts and updating the app regularly without getting paid.
This app is supposed to be a very basic app that plays videos, it is not like other paid apps which cost 10-50 dollars for hi-fi features. I have an app called AVplayer whose developer abandoned the app and ran away with the money he made. It used to be a good app but now I have to use VLC for new audio-video formats & I have to say that I am impressed with VLC. Although I wish it was a copy of its desktop app but I am happy with what I have.
To the developers:
Don’t listen to the negative feedback unless it is about the performance. You do not have to cater to entitled freeloaders who want features of a $10 app for free. Keep doing the good job, I won’t complain as long as I am able to watch videos without any issues.
So Lucky To Have VLC
I had used iTunes from the start but never liked it much, it always took long time to synchronize and download the updates and after a few years the new updates become so complicated to use and once it deleted all my music playlists from my iPhone that had taken me a long time to create.... since then I never add any to the music app, nor buy any music or movies from them....
Although time to time I need a music or two on my devices...
Now I needed to store and play a music on my new iPad and ‘voila’ VLC is here to help me out, make that happen!
I’ve just tied out PlayerXtreme, which is a very promising app., directly links with the iPad and imports the music, but that does not show the Thumbnail Image of the song, only a black background.
There you have it: VLC does show the Thumbnails as well and so it is a superior app. in that regards but of course direct music import is not available, but VlC is a free app.
All I can say it: Thank You.
