Latest upgrade a step backwards 🙁

Update: Thank you for your response and for the latest upgrade which seems to have solved the second problem I identified where it wasn’t possible to scroll backwards through tracks in a playlist when in repeat mode. The first problem still remains though. There is no longer a way to set videos to repeat - either in the video tab or the playlist tab. If I make a playlist that includes both an audio file and a video file then I am able to select a repeat option. But when there are video files only, there is no option to set the file(s) to repeat.

Prior to the latest update it was possible to set video playback to repeat a file. This option seems to have disappeared with the new version. Please bring this feature back. Also, since the update when the repeat option is set for a group of audio files, it is no longer possible to scroll backwards through the list of tracks to an earlier track, only forwards to a future track. This is very frustrating. Prior to the latest update I would have rated this app 5 stars. Now I am unable to use it for some of the functions it was previously very useful for 🙁

Developer Response ,

Thanks a lot for your detailed feedback. The repeat button for video should be more visible in today's update and we will further optimize that in future updates. I'll check your report on previous tracks not showing on repeat - this is not how it is supposed to be.

IOS update 16.1 freezes

The player won’t play videos after iOS 16.1 update, I needed to shutdown and start the iPad a couple of times now it works
Still an issue
if you stop then try to start the video after opening another app sound, drops, video freezes while sound is played or the video and sound doesn’t play and pressing the play button does nothing.

You have to close the player reopen it to get it to work.

This is not normal. Can you get in touch via videolan@videolan.org so you can share a debug log with us?

No Folders

Generally I liked this video player, and I’ve always had a soft spot for that orange traffic cone ico. (ie I’ve used VLC on a number of different platforms). But VLC for iOS does let users create folders (which I like to do) so I’ve moved to Infuse (which at least allows one level of folders)
