Great Gamin Replacement
So I’ve been trying to downsize my electronics, and reduce the number of things I have to recharge. This app makes a great Garmin Edge replacement if you have a waterproof phone. I bought the Wahoo HR strap, speed and cadence sensors, which provide accurate readings on a clear display, and now I just use this app for most of my rides.
I turn my screen brightness down a bit, and use about 50% of the iPhone battery on a 2 hour ride, including Bluetooth music streaming.
Does the job (some of it)
I have been using the app for years and it has been recording my workouts along the way. There have been some changes which were not always for the better ( like not having the map on the monthly reports). About 2 months ago the app started sending wrong data to Apple health (like 2 bmp heart rates) which definitely is an issue on the app side (it looks fine in the history but export files are wrong). It is a problem for me as I like to have all things centralised in health. It seems to take ages for the support team to get this bug fixed as it’s still an open ticket and that part is quite disappointing.
Renders purchased hardware non functional
If you purchased a RFLKT+ from Wahoo many years ago and supported them, you are left out to dry with 5.14.3. The new version renders the RFLKT+ useless by sending it into “No Config” mode and crashing every time it connects.
Edit: 5.14.4 was released 2 days after I wrote this review to fix this specific problem. At least they are quick to address issues
