Description
Invasive weeds cause significant damage to our environment and economy.
This App can be used to identify and record the location of weeds throughout Australia. Your records can be submitted to the Weedscan community website https://weedscan.org.au/, to help develop and maintain an up-to-date picture of weeds throughout your region. This information can be used to monitor populations, and to better target weeds through coordinated control programs. Please note that continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Pretty good but some rough edges
Pros: Accurately identifies plants that it knows, even if only leaves are present. For weeds, it is important to identify them at any growth stage.
Cons: It is obviously a version 1.0 product and needs a few fixes. In particular, the experience of anonymous weed reports could be better as there is not much feedback that the report has landed in the appropriate place
Great idea still needs work
This is an app that would benefit us greatly but basic functionality doesn’t work, weeds are constantly identified as Lantana, bug reports and requests for help are not answered.
Useless
I tried on a few garden weeds in Brisbane. 100% wrong. Removed immediately

WeedScan was primarily designed to identify priority weeds in environmental and agricultural contexts and is not intended to identify many common garden weeds. You may want to have a look at our list of identifiable weeds to make sure the weeds in your garden are also in our AI model.
