Sightings

As a visitor to the NSW coast, I found this app Interesting. Would be good to be able to set the time and date when adding a sighting, as it records when you submit it, instead of being able to put this in more accurately (busy watching the whale, not adding to the app, so recorded the sighting the next day!) Also an “unknown” or “not identified” category would be helpful for those who see a whale, but don’t know what species. Could ask tour companies to add to the database of sightings, as they spot them daily at this time of year?
Great to see free apps that encourage interest in our wildlife. Look forward to future improvements.

Needs a few improvements

Needs a few tweaks. When I’m asked if I want to “share this whale sighting”, I can’t move on unless I “copy to clipboard.” No option to cancel, even when I don’t want to.

Also, looking at offers for tours - they deliberately keep their prices so well hidden till the last minute that it’s annoying trying to compare costs, to the point I give up.

Would be nice to include day tours and boat trips in Sydney. Not only multi-night trips that require hours of driving.

And yes the app seems to crash a lot. Annoying

But it has great potential as is a good resource

Great seeing where whales are but sadly unable to post on iPhone

Great app though sadly not able to post using iPhone on IOS 13 - try and sight a whale, and after specifying location, when it goes back to the main submission page, the app crashes and quits.
