A winmail.dat file is an email from Microsoft Outlook that can not be read by other email applications. It needs to be converted for the content to be accessible.

Awesome
For a long time I,ve been trying to open emails, sent to me from (EXEC msg), with no luck. I must have downloaded and paid for, at least 6 different products on the app store, as i’ve need theses emails opened urgently, for a court case, that my lawyers sent me. And heaven be hold, it did what it said it would, I downloaded the app, it’s free at first, but I just went along and paid for it, the moment it opened the first email, its just drag, drop, and it opens automaticlly. Seriously I gave up, trying to open theses emails, for over 2 years now, I’ve enen argued with my dam lawyer’s secretary, that I could never open, these important files, so I just gave up. I don’t usually give reviews for anything, but give my court case starts tomorrow, and I thought I’d give it one more shot, it seems the email gods have smiled upon me !!

I work from a Mac in a Windows PC company, and it is... was... always a pain dealing with .msg attachments, which are sent out by email or attached to tickets in Jira. I use the web version of Outlook and could never open the .msg attachments. First try with this Letter Opener it opened it perfectly in full detail including attachments, right inside my Mac Mail app. Absolutely awesome! Thanks so much.
You hardly notice it’s there
Many apps to choose from. Chose this one beacuse of positive recent reviews. You just double click the Winmail thing at the bottom of the email and the email plus attachment opens. You hardly know it’s there. Plus there’s a real human being at support ready to raise any issues with. Worth paying for.
