Description

Wolow is a wake on LAN app that allows you to remotely start up a computer by sending a "magic packet" request.

Simply add a device configuration inside the app, select the device you would like to start up and then press the power button and as long as your configuration is correct you can watch your computer startup.

Wake on LAN is a network protocol that is supported by the majority of Ethernet cards available. Before using the app ensure your computer is fully configured to work with the wake on LAN protocol. A guide on how to set up your computer can be found within the app at the bottom.

Works just fine for a period of time

I’ve purchase this app due to its graphical interface which is very simplistic! Easy to set up and make it work. However I’ve notice that some times when the WOL device is off for a long period of time the app will simply not send the magic packet. By testing with other apps, they do wake up the device. Is just this app that sometimes work and other not. Overall, good app, but that would be awesome if that problem is fixed :)

Developer Response ,

Hello, sorry to hear you're having intermittent issues with waking up your devices. In order to try and resolve this issue I'll try recreate and fix this issue. You could also check this the troubleshooting section on the app website (https://jackbaker.dev/apps/wolow#troubleshooting) and check that the device is fully configured correctly. Thanks.

The only app review I have ever left……

The app does exactly what it is designed to do.

If you have any trouble making the app work the answer is in the supporting documentation that is accessible within the app.

Yes, the paid features are 100% worth it.

The only constructive criticism I can offer is the companion app should be persistent by default (after shutting down and turning back on you can’t turn the machine off again unless you restart the companion app) but from memory, you can do this within the settings of windows.

As a web developer just getting started I can really appreciate this app and the thought that has gone into it and hope that one day I can make something like this myself 😊

Awesome work!

Works well but could use better UI

Overall I’m happy with this app and I bought Premium, however I don’t like I have to “select” a computer to then interact with it. I’d much rather if it was a list of my computers, there’s more than enough space to make this work.
