No Internet connection is required. If you have also installed the Oxford or Chambers dictionary apps they be automatically detected and shown in separate tabs for quick cross-referencing. Useful dictionary for my mac
This dictionary is similar to the Cambridge or Oxford dictionary. It does not only gives different definitions of a word but also examples used in appropriate scencarios with the correct pronunciation in each form like verb, noun and adjective. I highly recommend this dictionary for everyone. Thanks Antony Lewis for creating such a helpful app.
good one
I've been using this dictionary in the last two years on Windows. There is a free version of this dictionary for Windows. Now I'm using it on Mac. I cannot find any comparable dictionary. It's fast and easy. On Mac with the pronunciation feature it's far better than the Windows free one. The price is reasonable and I recommend it to you. Regardless of the pronunciation in pro version that can be obtained in Windows too, there are more functionalities in Windows for this dictionary like searching in Wiki etc. I hope they improve it soon and provide update for current versions.
The most powerful dictionary I've used to find the words I need
I haven't found anything that compares to the wildcard search of wordweb.
"?" searches missing letters, like most dictionaries do, but Wordweb goes a step further with "*" 1 or more missing letters. Great for rhymes and puzzles.
