Frustrated Yaler ,

Frustratingly hopeless

I bought this Yale lock over 2 months ago. It needed a firmware update from the start, but I could get it to update with the App. Requiring to secure my door, I connected with old firmware and it worked with my HomeKit, but then one day when I opened the Yale App it said I needed a firmware update. However it won’t update the Yale lock. Says can’t connect to HomeKit. I lost all connection to the Yale lock. Could only lock and unlock my door by typing in the passcode, thank goodness! I re-initialised the lock got it setup again-working fine with HomeKit (but still not updated firmware) connect to Yale App and same thing happens. I guess, and hope, I have to re-initialise the lock ... again.

I reached out to Yale service and they very kindly offered to replace the lock, but when I told them I am in Australia, they don’t do exchanges in Australia.

How frustrating. Happy to work with you Yale to fix what would appear to be a substandard App, hope your willing to work with me!

Garbage

Don’t buy this lock and HomeKit module, it doesn’t work. Was ok when initially setup, I was unlocking door with Siri from home and from remote locations, however once the batteries went flat after about 5 months of use, I changed them and HomeKit and this Yale app can’t find the lock. I’ve tried numerous resets, countless hours doing everything to reconnect but it refuses. Get F Yale. Be throwing it in the bin and going for something that works.

Broken and abandoned app

I have no trust in Yale to support their products after this experience. Good luck finding the right Yale app for the lock you purchased among the graveyard of abandoned Yale apps. I’m supposed to trust the security of my home with this company?! Never purchasing another Yale product again.
