Bodhi1kanobi ,

Finally! You’ve made my day.

I have spent this morning looking around through this programme. It is polished and very well contstructed.

The intuition is there, and this can finally help me get my zotero workflow up and going with my iPad. (I just bought some more storage on Zotero hehe)

If I could make a couple of requests:

1. It would be really handy to be able to have some way of annotating in bespoke annotation apps, like PDF Expert. Currently it looks like it saves another copy and so changes are not reuploaded to the Zotero cloud file.

2. I’ve not been able to test this out, but I do write on Google Docs and Word on my iPad, so it would be great to integrate that flow.

Otherwise, hoooooorraaayyyy!

Huzzah!! As a recovering Mendeley convert, I can finally annotate on my ipad!

Since Elsevier ruined Mendeley and ditched their iOS app, the final straw being their more recent devolution to only supporting the very limited Mendeley Reference Manager for M1 MacBook, rather than the more useful Mendeley Desktop, I have recently turned to Zotero and taken the plunge to transfer my entire reference collection. Zotero seem to have improved in inverse proportion to Mendeley’s decline in usefulness and the icing on the cake is now I can even read papers on the couch on my iPad in comfort and even annotate and synch notes!! I have not used this app enough to be a constructive critic, but I am inspired to give it the thumbs up out of gratitude just to have it at last!

Great for research

Truely a great app and service. Highly recommend to anyone doing research. My one frustration with the app, and particularly the pdf reader is the annotation tools are a bit clumsy - not as good as pdf readers, which is a real problem because this is ultimately what the app would be so good for!

One problem is you have to select the tool (E.g the highlighter) and the colour separately. Very frustrating if you go between highlighter, which might be yellow, and the pen, which I really don’t want to be yellow. Long pressing a tool to assign a colour that persists with that tool would be much much easier.

I also can’t find an erasing tool, which seems a real problem for annotating.
