What we love: Chaining together awesome combos. It’s a rush going from a nollie dolphin to a 360 Weddle to a 50-50 grind – and that’s just the beginning. Simple one-handed controls make it easy to pull off heelflips, wall plants and manuals while nailing epic trick combos from one end of a level to the other.

Quick tip: Don’t overlook the park editor. Your own park is the perfect place to practise, and building one from scratch is a cinch. Or you can download other players’ jaw-dropping creations, including a massive tower that challenges you to skate to the very top.

Meet the creator: A shared love of console skating games inspired indie developers Jonathan Lanis and Resa Liputra to make Perfect Grind. The duo tried various styles – including an infinite runner (or is that skater?) – before settling on the game’s current design.
