polycolor

for your coffee break

Polycolor is the antidote to overload. It’s the kind of game that enables you to drown out the world around you, to free you from distractions and take you to your happy place.

There’s no action, no explosions, no worlds to save. Just some shapes, some colours and some gentle challenges to keep you engrossed.

Polycolor is a simple puzzle game with equally simple rules. You have a shape with multiple sections to colour in and you have three colours to colour it in with.

The tests get tougher as you go, but never reach frustration levels.

The only rule is that you can’t use the same colour in two consecutive sections – so if you use red here, you have to use yellow or blue in the next section. Colouring in a section requires a single tap; to change it, just tap again.

The shapes get more interesting as you progress through the 72 levels, but the gameplay remains beautifully simple and the soundtrack is as relaxing as a spa.

The difficulty does increase slightly as you progress, so for example you’ll find yourself having to complete puzzles within a set number of moves, but it’s gently challenging rather than frustratingly difficult. It’s the app equivalent of a doona day or a tea break for your brain.
