Roses, carnations, daisies, sunflowers, lilies… the explosion of colours and shapes in a bunch of flowers can be amazing. But when you want to capture a picture of all of those flowers together, it can be tricky to get the perfect composition.

Typic 2 can help to make your photos of flowers stand out on social media. We talked to Margarita Acosta, Colombian designer at Hi Mom studio, who created the Typic 2 app. Here are some simple tips to make your photos shine.

First, the colours

If your photo is jammed with tons of flowers, give the Color Boost filter category a try. Among 10 options, here is where you set the tone of your picture. “If your composition looks pale, apply Color Boost to make it more vivid", says Acosta. "If it looks good already, you can also apply it to give more strength to the colours".

Tune, tune, tune

Move on to the Filter Intensity option to graduate the saturation. “The adjustments must be subtle, little by little”, Acosta says. “You can make the colours look exaggerated as in a fairytale, or look more realistic. It’s your choice".

A little bit of contrast

If you decide to give your photos a more realistic touch, use the Contrast function. “This functionality helps colours stand out from one another by increasing the difference between dark and light – making the photo look more real”.

The nuances

Depending on where the photo was taken, you may want to add some context. The warm Caribbean or a chilly mountain? On the Temperature option, tap to the right to bring in a warm atmosphere or to the left to make the colours a bit blueish and cooler.

All set

That didn’t take long, did it? Just three minutes and your picture is now ready to blossom in the realm of social media. Just press the share button and see how the public honour your photographic flair.
