FEATURED APP
Organise your windows easily
Moom Classic
Easily move and resize windows
If you’ve ever winced at a mess of windows onscreen, you should know there’s an app for that.
Moom allows you to organise your windows with ease. Once installed, all you have to do is hover over a window’s green button and Moom’s pop-up palette will appear.
Use the presets to quickly reorganise a window: the Left Half preset, for example, resizes and relocates a window to the left side of the screen. This makes it seamless to order two windows side by side, whether left and right or top and bottom.
The tidying doesn’t stop there. If you hover over the green button and hold Option (⌥), an expanded set of presets will appear. With these, you can centre a window without resizing it, or send the window to the four corners of your desktop in quarter-size.
Enable Moom’s Snap to Edges and Corners feature in Preferences > Mouse and you can drag a window to an edge or corner to resize it. Drag a window to the right edge of the desktop, say, and it snaps to take up the right half of the screen.
If you prefer to customise the size of your window, make sure that “Enable full screen grid …” is checked under Preferences > Mouse > Zoom Button Controls. Now when you hover over a green button, the app’s pop-up palette will display an empty box.
Click the empty box, then click and drag to outline a new size. This helps if you want to arrange multiple windows precisely; one window can take up two-thirds of the screen, for example, while two others sit top and bottom in the last third.
