VSCO: Photo & Video Editor

Edit with Filters & Effects

View

VSCO’s elegant photo filters and powerful editing tools have made it a darling in the photography world (and on social media) – and its monthly subscription gives you access to it all. Here are a few tips to get started:

1. GIF yourself

Sharing GIFs is easy, and creating them is just as straightforward with VSCO. Go into the camera and swipe over to DSCO. Aside from being a cool name, DSCO is where you can shoot instant GIFs with spiffy VSCO filters. (For a serious photo-editing app, VSCO knows how to party.)

Make your own GIFs in a flash with VSCO.

2. Go analogue

Want to give your picture that vintage film look? First, set whichever Preset you use to +9.0 or below. Then, in the Tools tab, add a slight Fade (under +3.0) and some Grain (just until you can make out a barely visible speckle). Grain adds noise, so go easy with shots taken in low light.

Choose the perfect filters for your photos.

3. Publish a journal

Got a story to share? Create a journal by tapping the smiley-face icon in the menu at the bottom of the screen. Select photos, add text and then – if you so choose – publish to the public. It doesn’t get much easier than that.

Create beautiful journal entries of your images and add captions.

4. Add cool borders

It’s a fact: photos look cooler with borders. Once you’ve found the filter you like, give your photo some extra zing by tapping into the editing section, where you’ll find borders and backgrounds of all colours.

Add a vibrant border to your images to help them stand out.

5. Inspire yourself

VSCO’s social feed is a bottomless source of inspiration – just tap the striped-circle icon on the lower left to see for yourself. VSCO’s users are (obviously) super-creative, so the feed is full of stunning portfolios, stories, recipes and even poetry. With a minimalist layout that isn’t fuelled by hashtags and likes, it might be the app’s unsung hero.
