We often don’t notice leafy plants until they flower or fruit; but so many interesting things have to happen before they bloom. If you’ve ever been curious about how plants grow, then Namoo is for you – it illustrates the entire plant life cycle using detailed 3D images and animated diagrams.

Namoo starts off with four categories: roots, trunks, leaf anatomy and flowers/fruits. These are divided into chapters that include root tips, stems, plant cells and photosynthesis.

The app’s interactive diagrams bring the complex make-up of plants to life. For example, tap the flower icon on the top left and observe how pollination results in a ripening fruit.

The botanical vocab in Namoo gets quite technical, but the captivating animations make the app suitable for all ages. Namoo also comes packed with some extra AR surprises – for instance, you can watch how a tree trunk grows in real time.
