Tlon Messenger is a new kind of app: the only tool that lets you own your communications and collaborate peer-to-peer with the people you care about most.

Unlike most software out there, Tlon Messenger is decentralized and open source. Connect to Tlon Messenger with a unique ID you own. Your ID is a key to a stand-alone node that connects to a peer-to-peer network. This means no middlemen mining your data and no concern about its durability. If we disappear, you can continue to use our messenger.

Version v4.2.0
Introducing one-time password login and enhanced chat features for a smoother, more secure experience. Enjoy improved text formatting, easier image viewing, navigation to the latest chat message, and faster message syncing.
- Adds one-time password login for hosting customers who log in via email address or with a verified phone number. OTPs are delivered by email for email login and via SMS for phone number login. Preserves existing email/password login flow.
- Adds one-time password signup and login for new users. Preserves existing email/password signup flow.
- Adds show/hide buttons to all password or +code fields to onboarding screens.
- Adds a "go to bottom" button in Chat channels which will load all messages between the unread banner and the latest message and scroll you to the bottom of the chat log. This button reappears when you scroll up so you can easily get back down to the latest message.
- Adds a gesture to swipe down on the screen to dismiss an image in light-box mode.
- Improves the ChatInput by switching to a native component, which allows for better text selection and manipulation. Supports bold and italic text formatting via *italic* and **bold** syntax. Handles in-app content references automatically. Handles mentions via the @ or ~ hotkey. Parses URLs once the message is sent to the chat.
- Fixes an issue where joining a group via a content reference was impossible.
- Fixes an issue where tapping "Message" on a user's profile would crash the app.
- Fixes an issue that would cause long message sync times.
