Be A Football Hero!
This game is a classic footballing rags-to-riches story. Score! Hero charts your unlikely rise from the lower leagues to the top flight – and beyond.
To direct the play, you draw lines on the screen to direct passes, crosses, shots, headers and volleys. The action sequences are cleverly dropped into the overall story of the game, so for example your team will be trailing 1-0 and you’ll come on from the bench to bang in a last-minute equaliser.
After a few trial matches, your plucky youngster begins his rise to fame, firstly gaining a contract offer at a lower league club before breaking into the reserves and then the first team. Later, you’ll get scouted by a bigger club, make a big-money move and maybe even break into the international squad. It’s fairytale stuff, Jeff.
Building up the play to unleash a curler of a cross or delicious through ball is wonderfully tactile – and the on-screen effects really emphasise the thrill of slamming a header in at the near post.
Score! Hero has been delighting football fans since its release in 2015, but has now undergone a major facelift for the start of the 2018-19 season, with new graphical flourishes and new in-game events to tackle.
