Solve mysteries and puzzles
Any time a mysterious billionaire unexpectedly bequeaths someone a vast mansion it’s wise to assume there’s a catch. That’s definitely the case in Manor Matters, where Castlewood Manor has fallen into a state of dreadful disrepair and mysteries lie behind every door.
Your guide through the derelict house is Carl, the charming former assistant of an explorer who went missing on his most recent expedition. Solving the riddles his employer left behind isn’t Carl’s only priority, however – he’s just as interested in giving the place a thorough makeover.
You help out by playing detective, completing a series of hidden-object puzzles that’ll win the star-shaped credits you need for the renovations and investigations to continue.
The games get harder the further you get. Initially you just have to spot all the items listed in a room before the time runs out, but things quickly get more challenging when you have to work from silhouettes, or collect pairs of objects. Revisiting the same locations doesn’t help, either, because items have a nasty habit of moving.
It’s surprisingly easy to miss what’s staring you in the face, so you’ll be grateful for lifelines offering hints or buying time – you can buy more as the game progresses.
As you’re busy solving clues, a bigger mystery unfolds in the background. Is the house haunted? Does Carl know more than he’s letting on? You have to keep playing to find out.
