In Duels’ fierce one-on-one battles, your mighty warrior attacks automatically – but success or failure depends almost entirely on what you’re wearing.

Each piece of gear you own boosts your hero’s health or power. Helmet, armour and pants will keep you protected, while your weapon, shield, shoulders, gloves and boots add up to the force you can put into each blow.

They also determine the moves you can pull off – from poison whirlwinds to fire kicks and icy diagonal slashes. So be sure to check out your opponent’s stats before a match-up and adjust your equipment accordingly.

It doesn’t always pay to stick with the highest-rated items either. You might have a sword that deals less damage than your axe but boosts your chances of landing a critical attack or breaking your rival’s shield. Fight cleverly and tactically, and you’ll earn the precious medals that see you rise up the ranks.

For each battle you win, you’ll climb a live league table: reach the top and you’ll earn more keys to unlock chests containing newer, better gear.

There are more keys on offer in loot fights that invite you to sustain a winning streak against random opponents. And the campaign pits you against a range of fantastical foes for yet more opportunities to boost your kit.

Between the tense, well-animated skirmishes and the compulsive self-improvement loop, Duels will keep you coming back for more, even after a tough defeat.

You won’t just want to win – but to look good doing it, too.
