See and Learn Phrases Bundle 4+

The See and Learn Phrases bundle includes all three of our See and Learn Phrases apps.

See and Learn Phrases 1, 2 and 3 are designed to teach children with Down syndrome to read, understand and say simple two-keyword phrases using vocabulary taught in the See and Learn Vocabulary 1, 2 and 3 steps.

The See and Learn Phrases apps introduce sight words and phrases in simple themed books. The apps offer activities to practice matching, selecting and reading individual sight words, and to test the children’s understanding of sight words and of phrases using word-to-picture and phrase-to-picture matching activities.

Together, the three See and Learn Phrases apps teach 132 phrases using 81 sight words, helping young children with Down syndrome acquire a firm foundation in early language and literacy skills.

When to start

Children can start with See and Learn Phrases 1 when they:

• understand at least 50 words, including the nouns, verbs and preposition to be taught as sight words (baby, ball, bear/teddy, bed, brushing, cat, chair, dog, doll/dolly, drinking, eating, sitting, sleeping, table, washing, on)
• can say or sign some of the words that they understand
• can follow two-keyword instructions – for example, "wash doll/dolly" or "put bear/teddy to bed" in a play situation

Children can start See and Learn Phrases 2 when they have completed See and Learn Phrases 1 and understand the words to be taught as sight words. Similarly, children can start See and Learn Phrases 3 when they have completed See and Learn Phrases 3 and understand the words to be taught as sight words in See and Learn Phrases 3.

Other bundles

This bundle is designed for children who already understand and use 50-200 early words in spoken (or signed) language, but are yet to start learning to read or are ready to learn to combine two words to express new meanings.

Our See and Learn Language and Reading Bundle also includes the three See and Learn Phrases apps, together with the three See and Learn Vocabulary apps for children who are still learning their first words.
