It does away with cumbersome keypad entry, and makes converting currencies fast and fun.
On the iPhone, Elk is a handy and interactive rates table.
It picks a suitable starting value, and converts the next ten values to your home currency.
Swipe left to increase these values; swipe right to decrease them. Tap on a value for more accuracy. Or press deeply on an iPhone 6s or later to peek.
On the Apple Watch, Elk is optimized for watchOS 3. It launches instantly, and is ready to convert whenever you raise your wrist.
You tap, swipe and rotate the Digital Crown to convert currencies.
Elk is free to download, and offers a 2-week trial of the Pro version where you have access to all currencies.

Apps voor het omrekenen van valuta's zijn haast niet meer te perfectioneren, maar deze winnaar van een Apple Design Award biedt toch wat extra voordelen, vooral op Apple Watch. Je valuta wordt bijvoorbeeld automatisch bepaald aan de hand van je locatie en je hoeft geen cijfers meer te typen omdat de app je direct tien verschillende omrekeningen onder elkaar laat zien. Het resultaat is een snelle, intuïtieve en soepele ervaring die het reizen weer een stukje makkelijker maakt.
Very simple and nice app BUT...
I would like to use it on my apple watch (complications) and it doesn't work... So I'm a bit disappointed. More than that Elk's support is not present (no answer on all known communication channels). If it worked via Apple watch's complication I would rate it with 5 stars!
Beautifully designed but not user friendly
It would be nice if we could actually enter an exact amount to change. Because when you reach the thousands, you can only see the change per 100, which is not really helpful... Also, it was hard for me to find how to come back to the official rate once I customised it.
Also now the customization of the rate is not working.
4,49€ for a currency converter is super expensive, the least you could do is to actually make it work.
