Version 1.9.3

Parallels Desktop for Mac App Store Edition 1.9.3 (build 23882) update addresses the overall stability and security issues and includes the following additions and improvements:

General

• Fixes the issue with Parallels Desktop failing to launch on Apple Silicon Macs with a Virtual Machine Monitor error.

Windows 11

• Fixes an issue where Windows would get stuck at booting after a Parallels Tools update.
• Fixes a graphic rendering issue in Dark Souls 2.
• Fixes various graphic rendering issues in Genshin Impact.

Linux

• Adds support for express installation of Arm versions of Ubuntu Desktop 21 & 22.
• Improves the trackpad scrolling sensitivity and enables manual scrolling speed adjustments. To adjust sensitivity, execute the following command in macOS Terminal:

$ defaults write "com.parallels.Parallels Desktop" "HID Host Hook.Scroll Sensitivity" X

Where X should be lower than 120 (20 = the default value, 120 = the lowest sensivity)

What Will Be Deprecated or Removed from Parallels Desktop Soon:

According to the statistics from the users who participate in the Parallels Customer Experience program, some product features are used very seldom or not at all. We have decided to either stop supporting them or completely remove them from Parallels Desktop and focus on frequently used features and further enhancements.
Below is the list of features that are no longer supported and will be removed – not in version 1.9.3, but in one of the next major versions of Parallels Desktop for Mac. None of the features mentioned below are business-critical, so these changes will have little to no effect on your workflow.

On all Mac computers, the following things are no longer supported:

• Travel Mode
• The 32-bit version of Parallels Tools for Windows and Linux
• The option to download Parallels Access from the Parallels Desktop Preferences panel

On Mac computers with Intel processors, the following things are no longer supported:

• Resource Monitor
• Support for macOS 10.5 to 10.8 virtual machines

Great product overall; better buy from Parallels directly

1 day before the trial ended Apple charged my credit card for 80 euros.

After my credit card was charged, the product didn't recognize any license and kept prompting to buy it. There was no license key provided in any e-mail from Apple either.

Then I contacted Parallels support and after showing them proof of payment at Apple, I finally received a license key.

After that it turned out the version they sell you on the App store is some version limited (I'd call it crippled) to 4 CPUs. I asked Parallels support to upgrade my license and rather than charging the 20 euro price difference between the versions, they charged 50 euros. I told them their arithmetic is off and they agreed but told me the only way would be to get a refund from Apple and buy the full product through Parallels.

I asked Apple for a refund, but simply got a refusal without any explanation or substantiation. Contacted Parallels again and they say "nothing can be done".

Based on this review, which previously was 1 star, I was contacted by Parallels customer service and they resolved the issue by giving me the full (pro) version without charge. I certainly appreciate this resolution.

Parallels itself works great overall; the performance on M1 Pro in benchmarks and real use is excellent.

There have been some issues with the system clock in Windows 11 which kept displaying the wrong time and even crashing when syncing or turning the automatic time off and on again. Setting it to the MacOS clock resolved this.

Another issue I had was after I installed a Windows 11 update, the internet in Windows wasn't working anymore. Wifi on MacOS was on and working fine, but no connection in Windows. Switching the settings in Parallels control center from recommended (shared) to something else and back again resolved this.

I hope it will continue to run smoothly as this product is what enabled me to buy the best laptop hardware (M1 Macbook Pro 16 inch) and use the best operating system (Windows 11 is far, far better than MacOS for me).

opstart problemen

als ik dit programma wil opstarten blijf ik enkel een zwart scherm zien, heb dit meerdere malen opnieuw opgestart. ook de volledige laptop uitgeschakelt. toch blijft dit probleem onopgelost. wat moet ik doen???
