Solving some quality issues could make this a great app

"Only cocktails I can make" search functionality does not work accurately. There are cocktails for which I have all ingredients that don't show up and vice versa it gives me cocktails for which I'm lacking someting. Even with "Search">"Show me what I can make", there are recipies I don't have the ingredients for.

Substitutions function doesn't always work. Sometimes for the same cocktail an ingredient substitution is proposed (e.g. finding Green Lantern through "cocktails I can make" proposes to replace bols blue curacao with cointreau) and sometimes there isn't (finding Green Lantern through the normal search doesn't propose this substitution ; it suggests that I buy the missing ingredient)

Wording for substitutions is oddly constructed

When performing any action in the app, then switching to another app and coming back to Make A Cocktail, it always defaults back to the "home" tab. In the process of comparing recipies with online sources (or anything that requires any of the other tabs retaining their state) being able to switch apps would be handy.

The "add ingredients" dialog has an "X" button to clear the search field; it sometimes fails to do so (no surefire way to reproduce; it just fails sometimes)

Search only matches the beginning of the cocktail name. E.g. when adding "piri", I'd expect "Caipirinha" to also show up.

In the browser-version, I can't authenticate via Google SSO in Firefox (in Safari it works, I don't have SSO issues with other apps in firefox).

Developer Response ,

Hey reviewer-be. Thanks so much for the detailed thoughts and issues. The bugs are strange, and the thoughts are really useful. The issue of it finding substitutions sometimes but not others is very worrying for us, as the way that works, the cocktail just loads up the same meta data. Unless you had different accounts this should never happen. We're going to look into it asap and find out whats going on here.

The searching results, switching tabs etc etc we'll review in the next update (first few weeks of the new year hopefully) - as well as the web version stuff, Thanks again for the honest and useful freedback... we're working on all of these

Functions not working

Can’t add bottles to my bar, buttons don’t work.

Developer Response ,

We had some issues with the login not working and thus it not quite recognising you were logged in. This is all fixed now in the latest (1.0.4) version. Sorry about that
