Finally a well designed and developed reference manager

I have struggled with many reference managers. Every single one of them has flaws, but the biggest one would be the lack of a decent ipad and/or iphone app.

Paperpile was among the few to offer control to the user about where pdf files of papers are stored, which enabled editing the files on the ipad with software from other vendors and seamlessly syncing back to the paperpile web app.

with the paperpile app, the developers have gone above and beyond to deliver a truly amazing experience to read, annotate and organize research papers on the ipad.

I am impressed by the stability, the look and feel and the ease of use of the app. A big plus is the apple pencil support for annotation. Reading can be customized to the user's liking (i.e. dark mode, scrolling behavior, page layout, scaling, etc)

I highly recommend this app!

it kept loading and frozen

I was searching for a solution to organize my research papers and to take note on my ipad. This app popped up and look nice. But when I tried to choose “On my devices”, the app kept loading and didn’t respond to whatever other things I tried.
