Troll i ord is a tool for language stimulation developed for children in kindergarten. The app is particularly suitable for groups of children where different languages are represented. The children can listen to fairy tales, flip from page to page and gain aesthetic and linguistic experiences through the fairy tales that are conveyed. When the children can understand and experience fairytales in Norwegian and other mother tongues, a common frame of reference can be created for further play and purposeful work. In this way, the children's language skills are strengthened, while the fiction of the fairy tales promotes imagination and creativity.
Through the fairy tale universe in Troll i ord, children encounter both well-known Norwegian folk tales and fairy tales originating from other parts of the world.
- On the way to the «setra», the three goats have to cross a bridge. Under the bridge lives a big ugly troll who tries to scare away anyone who wants to cross the bridge.
- The boy and his mother are poor, they have to eat and need flour to make porridge. As the boy goes out on the barn stairs, the North Wind comes and blows away all the flour he has collected.
- The peacock and the raven are without colours. They decide to fly out into the world to find colors to paint each other with.
- The fox is invited to the wedding. To make the special sound used to celebrate weddings in Somalia, she needs a tongue.
- The poor shoemaker Dratewka is on his way from village to village in search of assignments. On his journey, he helps both ants, bees and wild ducks.
- All Sami children know that it is dangerous to go sledding so late on Christmas Eve as they can get caught in Stallo's sack.
- The boy and his older brother are going on a fishing trip, they go out in a boat but don't catch any fish. The boys camp on an islet. While the older brother has fallen asleep, a new boat arrives and docks at the islet.
- In order to get enough food for the huge and hungry baby birds in the nest, the Big Bird steals both sheep and goats from the farm, to feed the babies.
The subscriptions to the fairytales packages in Troll i ord start when you upgrade. They can be terminated online at any time, 24 hours a day. When you subscribe via iTunes, the payment is charged via the iTunes account when the purchase is confirmed. The subscription renews automatically (unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the next billing period).
