Got videos that are too big to upload to Mastodon? Everyone does. What kind of limits are these?!

All you have to do is pick your video and then tap a button and video for ants will automatically convert the format, compress the bitrate, and optimize the fps (frame rate) as needed to make them fit. You only have to tap a button. That's it. That's the app.

Choose it from the share sheet if you're fancy or just launch the app the old fashioned way from your home screen.

Ok I told a small lie. It does a bit more than that. You can mess around with specific settings if you want. It's up to you. Those videos aren't optimized for size yet but it's there if you want it.

If you want to squish down videos longer than 30s or stop the app from putting ants on your video then you can make a one-time purchase to lift those restrictions. It'll feel like a cool breeze on a warm day. You should totally do it.

• Instance-Specific Limits – Now tailored for your local Mastodon server. Larger file sizes, HEVC which means 4k and HDR colour support, and silky smooth 120 fps.

• High Frame Rate Mode ($) – Prioritize frame rates over resolution when compressing for Mastodon if you like. This is a paid feature.

• FPS Preservation – Instead of forcing videos to 30, 60, or 120 fps, the original—and possibly variable—frame rate will be preserved when possible.

*** Other Features ***

• Streamlined Experience – To squish a recent video you can probably just tap on it right away now that the picker shows up without even having to tap a button. What luxury.

• HDR (bright af) to SDR (boring) Conversion – When doing a custom export you can now choose to preserve or drop HDR colours.

• Theme Tweaks – Gave the themes a refresh to make things work better on iOS 18. Light is now lighter and dark is now darker!

Bugs were crushed. No ants were harmed.
