More about the Complex:
•The Ancient Serdica Archaeological Complex – the largest open air museum in the Balkans – was opened in 2016 in central Sofia to offer visitors a glimpse into the Bulgarian capital city’s Ancient Roman past.
•The complex, largely below street level and covering an area of about 9000 square me-ters, includes streets, baths, houses, an early Christian basilica and a late Mediaeval church.
•One of the biggest attractions within the complex is the Decumanus Maximus, which in Roman times used to be the main street of the city that would later become Sofia.

Amazing app
This wonderful app gives you the opportunity to explore ancient Serdica in Augmented Reality. We really enjoyed using the tool and thought it could be expanded to include more areas, perhaps even with the option to add ancient music in the background. Also, some of the transitions from one site to the next could be a bit smoother, and further bug fixes will help with sudden freezes or crashes. Overall, this app helped us see sites that we have visited hundreds of times before with a set of fresh eyes, walking around one of the most important Roman settlements in Late Antiquity. It is a great app for tourists and local denizens alike to experience Sofia like they have never done before!
