Description

FAIC's popular Emergency Preparedness & Salvage Wheel is now an app. Find simple steps to prep your institution for emergencies and learn to salvage by material type.

The FAIC Emergency Response & Salvage Guide (ERS) app has four sections. First, access a step-by-step guide with 9 steps for emergency response action starting with a disaster alert. Second, review material specific salvage for tips to prevent further damage to items based on type, such as books, electronic records, furniture, and organic materials. Third, find a brief glossary of terms and a few tips. Lastly, find information about the guide and our resources as well as a list of action items to do in advance of disaster as part of your planning process. There are also two links to contact FAIC’s National Heritage Responders directly via phone or email. This app can be downloaded and used offline in times when power or internet may not be available. Learn more about FAIC and our emergency programs and resources at www.culturalheritage.org/emergencies.
