Signing documents by hand can involve mail, meetings, and in extreme cases, an antiquated curiosity known as the fax machine.
DocuSign has a better way, using electronic signatures as a substitute for flipping through endless reams of paper – which means it’s both faster and greener.
Instead of printing out pages (and pages) of documents to scribble a single signature at the end, you can now scroll your way through NDAs, contracts, permission slips and more. Then sign electronically and move on with your day.
When you first open the app, you’ll see two numbers on your Dashboard reflecting the following requests: Needs My Signature and Waiting for Others.
To apply your signature to a document someone has sent, tap Sign & Send on the home page. You can even pick the colour of your virtual pen.
Got a waiver for someone else to sign? Scan it, upload a photo or import from another app. Once the document is in DocuSign, tap Others in the Select Signers page. From there, input name, contact info and role, and the app will send it right along.
Signing documents is free; sending documents to others requires a subscription plan. It costs a little, but you’re saving trees with every page.
